Hi. Welcome to Newt Extra. I am aiming to help others who have NO CLUE WHAT SO EVER. But it also holds some handy tips. Newt Extra is quite new so new stuff will pop up regulary so just keep checking back. I, on my first shot of keeping these amazing little guys i was clueless. I did though, find a very advanced newt owner. Isable. She has a website at www.supernewt.com and it has great stuff. I learnt a lot from her.
My newts I have 5 captive bred smooth newts whom are- tickles- girl, princess- girl and midnight- girl. I also have 2 boys, prince and wiggles. Yes, they have silly names but hey!!
I have some bad news and good news. The good news is that midnight, princess and tickles have layed eggs and that princess's batch have hatched, pictures coming soon. The bad news is about Princess. I noticed that Princess was swimming akwardly for a while so i took a look. She has lost all but one of her toes on her back left foot. Now though, she seems to be getting on alright.
